BSOD - Dual Boot W7 - External Hdd

I've fixed this error several times using Seagate SeaTools for Dos, available from the SeaGate website. Anonymous when i insert the xp cd, the computer wont even go to welcome screen.any ideas… Anonymous after inserting xp installation disk, no welcom screen comes up. Could my video card be shot?
