I run 2 machines in Windows 7 64 Ultimate retail and 2 in Pro and 1 in 8,1 pro.no way am I gonna 'downgrade' for a longtime yet. You may need to adjust your antivirus program (like turn off Norton’s Tamper Protection feature) or perform scans before attempting to run System Restore again. You'll have to reinstall your software and reconfigure Windows afterwards. The darned thing learn all these bad habits the more start-up & shutdown cycles it does that contain issues & problems, the further away from a fix you get. Windows 10 still does contain System Restore, so you can re-enable it if you feel more comfortable with System Restore as a safety net.
