Accessing Share Folder On Win7 Machine Crashing Xp
My XP machines can see the Windows 7 machines but not access any of the shared folders or the print on the Windows 7 machines. I am including each step in detail to help. 1 Logon to the Network Attached Disk and find out the name of the shared folder, the Workgroup name and the IP the xp machine finds the ip 5000 printer share from win 7 machine everything is ok until i try to install the win xp drivers on the xp machine the error Groove works fine, except for one key thing… When setting up folders for Groove to synchronize, I want to be able synchronize with Windows 7 folders. have a peek here

I can see the print server but yet get the error message trying to get any further, or when trying to set up the USB HP1200 printer hanging off it. I am still unable to connect to my iOmega NAS through Windows Explorer after following the steps of this post.

I have to say I'm a fan of Microsoft's Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, and it's what I've been waiting for from Microsoft. I can see the c drive but when i click on it it denies me access. my printer sharing is on win2k .. Microsoft Kb 913628 My XP machine is not showing up in this list at all.
I was hoping that I could run Groove for a while each day to get updates propogated into my Windows 7 file structure. When i click "connect" like you recommend, I get an "access is denied" error even though it is set to share on the XP machine.

Why would Vista think it needs a password when none exists? Right click, and say "Run as Administrator". Then under XP Mode I can access the share from my computer. THANKS for posting this!
Thanks. What was interesting is that any network shares that WinXP had saved in my network places were accessible. In some cases you will need to install the x86 XP drivers for the shared printer because the Windows 7 drivers are not compatible with XP. When everything is installed open I copied your answer to windows7forums.com.

After restart you can drag and drop the files from host to Virtual machine or vice versa. How do you get Windows 7 to allow you to successfully install the x86 drivers for your Windows XP clients? Problem solved thanks to this page! I called Epson support and they gave me the following work around.
