I tried running the tools in How do I reset Windows Update components?, but this did not fix the issue either: No matter what I do it just hangs on the Windows Update Standalone Installer Searching For Updates Then I tried following cluberti comments on this and even haley_joel_osteen ones on Reddit still not solving the problem.
