Can somebody help me? These instructions are for the Printer attached to the XP machine (but works in reverse as well). ("Stand alone" Network printers can be done slightly similarly BTW). It would have been nice if stupid windows 7 would report there is a time discrepancy, and not just a bad username / password combination. I just spent days banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out and here what I found: Make sure the clocks are in sync on Win 7 and How To Disable Network Password In Windows Xp I actually validated that by changing the clock again I had re-introduced the problem. My Problem was that my Windows 7 PC could not access files or printers on my XP PC across a local area network (through a wired router). Correcting that would have fixed it instead of the above, I think.

I'm assuming the username is the name of the account and the password is the Windows password, which don't work. There must be more to it.
