Since I never used XP, I am a little lost. Click on "My Computer", "Auto Play","Drives", Choose the Drives you want to turn on Auto Play for. "Apply", "OK" 4. The retail version of ShellRun has an option to start playing the audio - see here for details. Check for Program Updates in Ubuntu Linux?

If either NoDriveTypeAutoRun or NoDriveAutoRun specify that AutoRun should be disabled for a drive, then it is disabled for that drive. The Autofix.exe is the same one I used to fix the autoplay problem in the first place, but I had neglected to try the wixard's monitoring feature. I believe you need to do this for the drive itself...I was able to turn it off, verify that it was gone, then turn it back on and re-test... In some situations, AutoPlay will be switched off - you must open the CD/DVD folder and double-click on a file to show some content. Hope this helps!! If I open the program manually (i.e. I'm completely out of ideas, do I need to reinstall something from my XP CD? In this case I had already run a Windows Repair (my original solution to this problem) in order to fix other OS issues. Luckily, there is an easy fix available from Microsoft. So I re-re-ran autofix for all drives & all users, and when I rebooted into regular mode, everything WORKED! That is, the boot to safe mode to remove items in device manager is well, something I do so often it's nearly automatic.
If the Enhanced CD data does not have an AUTORUN.INF file, then Windows will usually start playing the CD when it is inserted. Does anyone have a better handle on the problem?
